Thank you to everybody who has been taking part in the cultural map discussions, and thanks also to all of those who have taken part in the polling.
The discussion surrounding the cultural map for Artania/Keris/Macon has been by far the most lively and heated so far. Nevertheless, by 6 votes to 2, you have voted to implement the proposal for Artania/Keris/Macon.
In more conventional circumstances, I would take this as a mandate to press ahead and finalise the cultural map for this region. However, the circumstances are somewhat complex. Since the proposal was put to the vote, an alternative has emerged which would modify the original proposal only slightly but would, it appears, placate some of the people who are most strongly opposed to it. Furthermore, the two people who are most strongly opposed to the original proposal - Farsun and Mike - are both planning to play in Artania once the game begins, and for this reason, it would be desirable to satisfy them insofar as that can reasonably be achieved here.
Another small point to mention is that Mike did not vote in the poll, but did express strong views on the server, so perhaps it would be charitable to presume his abstention was due to him being busy or something, and add him to the voting tally as an opponent of the original proposal.
I have been urged to implement the requested modification, which involves simply swapping the cultures of Swedish-with-Finnish-minority Ikradon and Dutch-with-Frisian-minority Kundrati. Obviously, it might be considered unfair to the people who voted for the original proposal if it was unilaterally changed again so soon afterwards.
For this reason, although I am sorry to trouble you all again, I am going to invite you to take part in the follow-up poll above, to determine whether or not the new proposal should be accepted.
