Michael Carsten & Freedom Party Sworn In
Michael Carsten and his centre-right Freedom Party surged to a victory giving Lodamun its first centre-right majority government in over 20 years. The Freedom Party ruled Lodamun for the past four years with limited support from the hard right Patriot Party, and some effort from the Opposition Labour Alliance Party. Its notable that the Freedom Party minority is the first minority government to survive it's full mandate since the Labour Alliance minority from 2000 to 2004 under former Prime Minister Ezra Aires.
Prime Minister Carsten has announced he fully plans on following through on his election promises to offer further investments in the Commonwealth's Armed Forces, continuing the economic policies that have empowered Lodamun with the third highest GDP per Capita in Terra of any nations save for Dalibor and Kalistan and renew and strength relations in the Commonwealth.
Carsten is expected to present his Cabinet to the Governor General once Fort William has finalized the selection for Lodamun new Viceroy, following the death of Governor General Patrick Taylor three months prior to the election.

Prime Minister Carsten & Cabinet Confirmed by Emperor Alexis I[/u]
In a rare occurence Prime Minister Michael Carsten and his new Cabinet travelled to Fort William in Luthori for a private audience with His Imperial Majesty Emperor Alexis I to be confirmed as the head of the new Government in Ellingston.
Under normal circumstances the Prime Minister would be confirmed by the Governor General however the death of the former Governor General Sir Patrick Taylor, during the recent political campaign put the government in the rare circumstance of requiring direct Royal Assent.
The Prime Minister was able to combine his confirmation hearing into a state visit to Luthori where its known that Carsten met with the Luthori Imperial Chancellor and her Cabinet, discussing economic ties and opportunities in the increasingly lucrative Lodamese and Seleyan Market, and continued discussion with high ranking Defence officials on the formal creation of a true "Joint Commonwealth Command" bringing the various Armed Forces in the Commonwealth under a common banner.
While the bulk of the Cabinet is expected to return to Ellingston and begin the nitty gritty work of government, its rumored that Carsten, Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Ellesworth, Defence Minister Laura Wright and International Trade Minister Kent Dennis, along with numerous high ranking military officials, will he continuing onto Haldor to meet with the Dorvische government.

Former Commander-in-Chief of the Lodamese Commonwealth Army, General Eric Bishop took the formal oaths earlier this morning as he became Lodamon's 35th Governor-General in a ceremony held at Carmichael House. Emperor Alexis I administered the oaths to the former General to a resounding applause by hundreds of Lodamese audience members, including Prime Minister Michael Carsten and his cabinet. Bishop swore the oaths of allegiance to the Luthorian crown and the Lodamese people, having accepted the role as Governor-General and Keeper of the Seal of Lodamon. The audience included former Prime Minister, former Governor-General Patrick Taylor's family, Prince Peter of Luthori and Princess Angela of Luthori. The ceremony was personally orchestrated by Emperor Alexis I, in an attempt to illustrate to the Lodamese people that there is relevance and meaning in his presence as the nation's head of state. Whilst the Emperor refused to speak the media, the Imperial Household press office stated that the Emperor was extremely pleased in appointing General Eric Bishop as his representative in Lodamon.
Prime Minister Michael Carsten spoke about the achievements of General Bishop during his tenure as Military Attache in Luthori and Commander-in-Chief of the Lodamese Commonwealth Army. Prime Minister Carsten stating that he served Lodamon "gloriously" and "valiantly" in peacekeeping deployments across the world. There are various "perks" to being the Governor-General of Lodamon, the Luthorian Emperor's Representative in Lodamon. General Bishop and his wife are expected to be awarded the Order of Lodamon, the nation's most prestigious award. He will receive a permanent residence in Luthori, most likely named "Bishop House". Carsten and Cabinet Visit Haldor
Prime Minister Michael Carsten and several ranking members of his Cabinet arrived in the Dorvische Capital to meeting with numerous members of the Dorvische Government, including a direct meeting between Staatkanzler Rohr-Mauss and Carsten at the Imperial Chancellory. Carsten, off of his recent trip to Luthori and the meeting of the Imperial Chancellor and the Luthori Emperor, has been begun making his rounds in attempt to bring Lodamun permanently out from underneath Lothori's shadow and back into the international limelight.
Lodamun has remain widely isolationist for most of the past decade following Lodamun's 2008 Recession in attempt to get it's house in order, under three different Prime Ministers. Carsten began the slow process when he came to power, but constant infighting which caused Carsten to need to fight with the Opposition Labour Alliance and even from the Patriot Party, who served as a de-facto coalition partner, kept Lodamun looking inward until recently. Carsten promised to bring Lodamese investment into Dorvische firms in the coming months.
In the background of these meetings it was rumored that Defence Minister Laura Wright privately met with numerous Dorvische military officials and defence firms to acquire Dorvische equipment for the Lodamese Armed Forces which have begun a long arduous process of rearmed after decades of neglect under successive governments. Well nothing was openly confirmed it's said that Wright is interested in replacing the immensely aging LF-18 Knights of the Royal Lodamese Air Force which have been in services in the late 1980s, and finally obtaining the newest version of the Dorvische Leopard 2 tanks; the Lodanese Arned Forces used modernized versions of the Leopard 1, which have been kept in service far longer then should have been possible; an ongoing issue throughout the entire Lodamese Armed Forces.
Prime Minister Carsten is expected to return to Ellingston and begin the work of government, while Foreign Minister Oscar Ellesworth will be continuing his diplomatic blitz across Terra, with an immediate spot in Kalistan and Keymon set up.

Carsten Gets to Work in Parliament September 2019
Freshly off of his trip to Dorvik, Prime Minister Michael Carsten has wasted little time introducing a number of rapid fire pieces of legislation in attempt to, as he put it, "Finally put Lodamun back on the proper path." The first was the long awaited and spoken about Defence Modernization Act, a comprehensive Defence Procurement Plan to rapidly equip and modernize the Lodamese Armed Forces. Defence Minister Laura Wright spoke on the bill as "Long overdue that has languished from constant resistance from the Opposition to finally put Lodamun back on top." Carsten had attempted to force a similar plan through in 2017 but was eventually defeated from venomous resistance from the Labour Alliance and Radical Liberal Opposition, both of whom has turned decidedly anti-military in recent years and the Patriot Party stating the plan would cost far too much and ironically wouldn' go far enough.
The Defence Modernization Act begins with the authorization of the expansion of the Lodamese Armed Forces, both Regular and Reserve, and the re-activation of numerous units and bases that were shutted during the late 90s and early 2000s, both for budgetary and many believe political reasons. It also puts into effect the procurement of new Fighters for the Royal Lodamese Air Force, with the Department of National Defence having quietly announced it will be going with the Artanian Unionfighter to replace the 30 year old LF-18s Lodamun acquired from Valruzia in the late 80s and early 90s at a severe discount.
Further plans for the Army and Navy have been stated to be coming in the coming months, but a full Modernization and Upgrading of the Prosperity-class Frigates, and Phase IV Modernization Program of the Mashacara-class Destroyers, which Defence Minister Laura Wright has stated is shocked are still in services, having originally been pressed into service in the late 70s and early 80s. No rumors on who the designers will be for the next generation of Destroyers, though Wright has said they are eagerly looking.
In addition Carsten announced as part of the first budget, Lodamun will be entirely eliminating the Corporate Tax Rate to drive investment in Lodamun, and making it one of the few Tax Free areas of business in Terra. These measures would be introduced in the first Freedom budget in April of 2020, along with the beginning of the payment plan to pay for the Defence Modernization Act and "a number of measures to begin getting Lodamese citizens off the government teat and relying on their own initative rather then the nanny state perpetrated the Talon and Galtier days." Prime Minister Francois Talon, the Lodamese Prime Minister from 1988 - 2000, is a Labour Alliance Prime Minister must credited for massively expanding the modern Lodamese social net, centralizing what had originally been numerous provinicial programs under the Federal Government, something that persisted, while Prime Minister Pierre Galtier, Prime Minister from 2011 - 2015, is notably in Lodamun for throwing government spending through the roof, at first to battle the Recession, and later, as was cynically said by then Opposition Leader Carsten, has an attempt to "bribe the Lodamese people with their own money." By the end of the Galtier Adminstration in 2015, Government spending was at it's highest peak in history, and the government itself was in massive debt.
