The referendum will take place solely on the Island chain and will be considered bounding legally. Whatever nation the island chains residents choose, they shall become legally part of. This has led to major political campaigns on the island chain. The referendum is set to take place in September 2023. The Jamestown Agreement was signed by Keymon Foreign Minister Kehau Keahi and a representative for the foreign minister of Luthori. The Jamestown Agreement lays out several articles, which will take effect when either Keymon keeps or Luthori gains the island chain. The first 7 of the 9 articles goes into depth on the agreements that will occur if Luthori gains the islands. This includes: The Luthorian military informing the Keymon Ministry of Defense whenever they move naval vessels to the islands and/or in the islands waters, the legal extraction of minerals out of national waters, the eligibility of Keymon citizens for Breton Island passports, the “Right of Return” for Breton Island citizens, the legality of Breton Island citizens to reside permanently in Keymon, the end of the Bank of Luthori’s backing of the Keymon Pound, and the free movement of individuals between the states. If the citizens of the Breton Islands wish to continue to be Keymonites, then the status quo shall remain the same. However, if the referendum ends in a draw, then another referendum must be called. The PKU and Labour Party are both supportive of the referendum and have praised it as a-“showing of democracy for the people of the Breton Islands and of Jamestown”.

The referendum was held all across the Breton Islands and saw 78% of eligible voters participate. The legally binding referendum has since caused the elegantly named “Luthori Articles” of the Jamestown Agreement to come into effect. The transition will occur in 3 days, as agreed in the Jamestown Agreement, and will be legally binding. The Labour Party has condemned the results of the referendum as “dangerous and another addition to the Luthorian imperial collection”. However, on the opposite side of the aisle, the PKU has officially congratulated the people of the Breton Islands and Luthori for “coming together in a peaceful and respectful manner that allowed for a democratic and legal transition”. International reactions were rare but were generally happy that the differences between Keymon and Luthori over the island chain were settled. The general reaction on the islands was that of joy with harsh speculation.

Kamamalu Iokua, the CEO of Iokua Banking, also stated that he went to Kalistan one month ago to- The banking industry in Kalistan, according to financial experts, is extremely bland with very few private banks and one large central bank called the ‘Republican National Bank’. None of those private banks offer currency exchanges, which is one of the main transactions that occur in Iokua Banks. The Republican National Bank does offer currency exchange, however it doesn’t offer investment opportunities. This has led to what some have called the “Golden Land of Banking” which could allow large profit margins within Kalistan if a bank is able to cement itself in the nation. Reactions to the CEO’s announcement have been mixed. Many nationalists have condemned the move as an attack on Keymon democracy and capitalism, as Kalistan is a socialist nation that has a tense relationship with the Keymon government. This tense relationship has fostered into a war of words between a Keymon government funded radio station and a Kalistani government owned radio station. Often these broadcasts consist of attacks on the opposing nations economic system and government. This has caused severely strained relations between the two nations, which some seek to keep in place. However, others wish to heal the relationship between the two nations and seek a compromise on the issues effecting both nations. The Kaliburg Iokua Banking building is located close to the capital complex and is already open for business.

KalMD is an electronics company, focused mainly on the kalistani market. They produce a vast array of electronic products, but there biggest market is the mobile phone market. KalMD is the largest mobile phone provider in all of Kalistan, with almost every home having a KalMD phone. However with increasing demand for KalMD phones, more resources are needed to keep up with the demand. KalMD reportedly needs massive loans just to keep up with production. However, most Kalistani banks saw too high of a risk and too little of a return to bargain on giving KalMD a loan. This is where Iokua Banking steps in. With there recent opening of a branch in Kalistan, they were a breath of fresh air for KalMD and a new possible bank that could loan them cash. However, Iokua also benefits from this arrangement. Iokua gets legitimacy in the Kalistani market and benefits the nation greatly. So earlier today, Iokua Banking announced that they would be giving a 150 million Keymon Pound loan to KalMD to not only increase there lithium extracting capabilities, but also expand its consumer electronics division. Whilst Iokua Banking didn’t make a statement on the loan, financial analysts have stated that this loan would most likely have an interest rate of 2.5% a year.

This treaty, in a summative form, is an agreement between Keymon and Sekowo to perform joint research on military technologies and weapons. According to Keymon Defense Minister Iukekini Kaimi: This treaty comes right after the nationalization of the Keymon Arms Company by the Keymon Ministry of Defense, hinting to some that this could be an attempt to work together and arm the Keymon Defense Forces. This is backed up by evidence that the Small Arms R&D Bureau has finished developing several different weapons, which many have seen soldiers carrying with them. These include new and numerous types of rifles, shotguns, pistols, and LMG’s. Whilst these rumors haven’t been confirmed by an official source, insiders in the Ministry of Defense have confirmed that the MoD is actively taking steps to arm the Keymon Defense Forces using domestically made arms, alongside some Sekowan made weaponry as well. Rumors are that the MoD is planning on developing different types of aircraft, watercraft, and land vehicles as well as small arms, with the assistance of Sekowo and it’s weapon engineers.

The technology they referred to in there statement was a new program which would communicate with the glass within the greenhouse. This glass would have tinting technology which would allow the glass to tint when commanded to do so by the program, called TintingTester. TintingTester detects the level of sunlight coming inside the greenhouse and, based on the crop and there light needs, can tint or brighten the glass. To use TintingTester, a farmer would simply need a computer that can receive wireless communication. This would allow TintingTester to request permission to tint the glass to assist the plants. According to botanists, plants can die if they’re TintingTester to too much sunlight. This is due to the leaves begun to wilt as the sun begins to bake them alive. However with the ability to tint greenhouse glass, it would allow farmers to not prevent wilting but also allow them to let in more sunlight. The TintingTester program requires data from measurement tools in the soil to determine if the plant is welting. When asked how this would revolutionize greenhouse farming, a botanist explained it as follows: When asked where the company will go next, the Saipipulu Technology Lead Board Members stated that:

It was faced with numerous choices of who to support, if anyone at all. Finally today, after a week of deliberation where numerous ministers debated the merits of each position, the Prime Minister announced that his administration would officially recognize Qendaria as the official governments of all of Cildania and would redeploy all diplomats in Cildania to the Qendarian government. This announcement also came with a new policy of his administration. Prime Minister Kalili Makaio stated that: This move has caused outrage in not only the Labour Party and Centrist Party, which both requested neutrality in the matter, but also in the PKU, the prime ministers own Party, itself. Members of the PKU have called for the Prime Ministers expulsion from the party alongside all his ministers, for “intervening in foreign affairs when domestic issues plague our nation”. However the PM has remained adamant that his administration will continue to support Qendaria, even if some in his party disagree.

Due to the funding issue, the heads of radio free Seleya have decided to cancel the programming, rather than go private. The reason for not becoming private, according to the Head of Broadcasting, is because- That same Head of Broadcasting did however lampoon the Ministry of Finances claims that the station broadcasted questionable content and invalidated claims. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance stated that the Ministry wasn’t using the cash originally being sent to RFS for the military. On the contrary, they stated they’re using it for humanitarian aid. Public reaction is dull, as few domestic Keymonites listened to radio Free Seleya. According to stats from RFS themselves, only 10k of the 45k listeners were Keymonite. The rest where Kalistani. However even then, that is an extremely low number compared to the population of Kalistan. However, it seems as though RFS did accomplish one of its goals. The number of refugees coming from Kalistan to Keymon went up from 2,500 to roughly 12,500.

This classification comes only days after the Ministry of Finance defunded and therefore ended Radio Free Seleya, a government funded radio station that blasted reports and news stories into the isolationist Kalistan. The Bureau of Intelligence has officially given Radio Kaliburg the classification as an ‘Threat to the Security of the Nation’. This same classification has only been given to three other entities, making Radio Kaliburg the fourth on the list of classifications. Kaimalolo Puhihale, the Head of the Bureau of Intelligence, officially requested Prime Minister Makaio open negotiations with the Kalistani Government to shut down Radio Kaliburg, however Prime Minister Makaio denied this request. When asked for a reason for this denial, he stated: Whilst representatives of Radio Kaliburg refused to speak with us, the Labour Party condemned the Bureau’s classification of Radio Kaliburg as a national security risk. The general consensus among Labour Party Members is that, in there opinion, this is solely attack on socialist/communist viewpoints. Madalynn Bright, the Head of Labour Party and most likely opponent to Prime Minister Makaio in the next elections, stated that- Proponents of the classification of Radio Kaliburg as a threat to national security state that the radio program is influenced by the Kalistani government and could be used to attack Keymonite democracy.
