The PKU’s Chairman, Chairman Kalili Makaio, released a statement through his office congratulating not only the PKU’s own Legislative Assembly Members but also the members of the opposition. The statement read as follows- “We wish to congratulate not only our own candidates but also our opposition for their victories in there appointments of the Legislative Assembly. The PKU has successfully gained a majority of the seats in Legislative Assembly and will now begin to push forward legislation that will ultimately make our nation a better place”. However, the upcoming governor, Dame Diane Lee, is a liberal. Dame Diane Lee is also a very pro-LGBT politician, which has made herself a prime enemy of the PKU. The PKU completely refuses to recognize gay marriage and has announced there intention to pass a law that would end gay marriage and gay rights to adopt. The PKU has also proposed laws to end the Labour Parties ban on “military style” weapons. Alongside these proposals, the PKU has also proposed a law to end universal healthcare and tuition free college, which had caused anger from many Labour Party members, students, and the poor. However Kalili Makaio reassured the previously mentioned groups that: “Any change to universal healthcare or tuition free college will be slow and gradual, to a point at which no major upset occurs”.

Chief Executive Kalili Makaio has announced that Keymon's next Governor will be Dame Diane Lee. Dame Lee is expected to replace the incumbent Sir Adrian Smith as Governor after Smith announced his intentions to resign from office amidst health concerns. Dame Lee upon appointment will become the first woman to hold the post of Governor of Keymon. Keymon is a parliamentary dependency underneath a constitutional monarchy; with the Emperor of the Holy Luthori Empire, Emperor Alexis I at the top as head of state and the Governor as his representative in Keymon. Although remaining out of national spotlight for the majority of her political career as a Permanent Secretary within the Education and Culture Bureau from 2001 to 2007, she had made headlines in the fields of global development having chaired the United Developmental Assistance Programme (UDAP) from 2008 to 2016. Recently she has been leading the national charge in preserving indigenous arts and culture through her chairwoman-ship at Royal Society for the Preservation and Protection of the Indigenous Arts, a position which she has held since 2017. On the premise of minor controversy coming out of Governor Smith's salary, whereby it had been found that his salary was well above the standards set by Governors of the past. It is expected that Dame Lee's salary will not exceed ₭200,000 annually.
Her husband is retired Major-General Kiefer Lee of Luthorian Overseas Forces - Keymon, who had received much national fame for orchestrating the military response to the 2016 Typhoon Huhū. The Dame and her husband will maintain three official residencies, Providence House (Turtle Bay), The Ponderosa (Sasiloa) and the Normandy (Gataivai). It is through these estates the Dame and her husband are expected to receive and entertain visiting heads of state, with Administration House being the preferred residence of previous Governors mainly due to its position at the absolute centre of Turtle Bay. Dame Diane Lee's term is expected to begin tomorrow when Emperor Alexis I arrives in Keymon to officiate the appointment ceremony where he will temporarily assume the hat of "Emperor in Country". Chief Secretary Makaio stated that the appointment of Dame Diane Lee was a step in the right direction for women and Keymon as a whole. There will be a farewell for Sir Adrian Smith later this evening. Sir Adrian Smith, a Luthorian-born national similar to Dame Lee, is expected to leave for Luthori tomorrow where he will spend his much need and well-deserved retirement. Sir Smith was instrumental in championing calm amidst instances of nation distress, and it is hoped that Dame Lee will not fall short of standards left by Sir Adrian Smith. Sir Smith served as Attorney-General of Keymon from the period of 1990-1995 underneath the Douglas Pearce ministry prior to be appointed as Governor-General in 2013.

The PKU’s abortion law criminalizes abortion for all purposes. Previous Labour Party abortion laws were considered extremely liberal, especially by conservatives, due to the fact they allowed for abortion regardless of reason for abortion. The new Conservative abortion law has been seen as especially heinous by the Labour Party, which has condemned the bill as a “guaranteed death sentence for hundreds of thousands of Keymonites”. However Chairman Kalili Makaio of the PKU has ‘debunked’ the Labour Parties condemnation as “a gross over exaggeration made by pro-baby killers”. However, the abortion bills main problem won’t be passing the Legislative Assembly but being approved by the governor. Whilst governor Diane Lee hasn’t released any statement in the abortion bills, she is a well known liberal and is very pro-abortion. Ultimately however, the decision on abortion is up to the governor. Whatever she decides however, it will ultimately have immense ripples throughout Keymon society.

This new program, called the ‘Diversity and Inclusiveness Program’, requires the PSK to hire a certain amount of foreigners as officers in the program. This program has already begun and has seen many Luthorian and Lodamese officers beginning to be hired. The program began as a way to, according to the Public Security Bureau, a way to “guarantee diversity in the PSK” and “guarantee all racial, religious, and ethnic groups are represented in the defenders of the laws of the isle of Keymon”. This program has been praised by the Labour Party as However the PKU has condemned the ‘Diversity and Inclusiveness Program’ as racially and ethnically focused, rather than focusing on the quality of officers. Pa'ahana Kaimi, the Secretary for Public Relations for the PKU, has condemned the Diversity and Inclusiveness Program as a “racially motivated attack on locals, which seem to have been perfectly fine working with the local police force. This move is a move to force diversity when it is unnecessary in a perfectly fine police force”. General condemnation has however been rebuffed as the Public Security Bureau hold ultimate power over this decision, which the liberals and Labour Party control.

On the backdrop of the Luthorian Government continued administration over Keymon, Secretary of State for Commonwealth and Imperial Affairs, Sidney Wallace has stated that the government intends on supporting a proposed economic transformation coined Vision 2050. The proposed agreement outlines a series of plans set to develop Keymon underneath the proposed "economic transformation". It was unveiled yesterday that the Luthorian Economic Development Commission intends on assisting the Keymonite Government, specifically the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport, on a much needed expansion of the Halanamo International Airport with the inclusion of two additional terminals and the construction of an additional runway. The estimated cost of the project which has already been agreed upon by the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport is expected to be around Ⱡ15 billion with additional refurbishments to existing infrastructure adding another Ⱡ5 billion on-top of the Ⱡ15 billion. This infrastructure project is apart of Keymon's drive towards becoming an innovation and financial centre in Seleya. With assistance from investment from the Luthorian Government, it is hoped that the transformation of Keymon from a planned economy to a stringent free market capitalist economy. The hands on approach by the Luthorian Government comes amidst Fort William is beginning to tighten its grip on the Imperial Commonwealth for which Keymon is a member. With the Luthorian economy on a steady stream towards recovery, the prospects of foreign direct investment into the commonwealth is mounting.
The new terminals to be constructed underneath the project are expected to hold around 20 international gates with the intentions of servicing larger aircraft which were unable to "dock"/"gate" at the current gates which are far too small. The existing terminals 1 and 2 are expected to be refurbished with the intention of increasing the airport's capacity. Apart from increased capacity, new security solutions are expected to be trialled at the airport once construction has been completed. Various screening lanes, body scanners and passport control measures are expected to be rolled out after construction. Dylan Fletcher, Project Manager, stated that the airport's construction had to be modular in-order to accommodate for future projects. A modular makeup of the airport would allow for ease of modernisation in the future as large areas can be easily moved around, expanded and/or removed based on the needs/desires of future modernisation ideas. A series of airlines are expected to assist in the project alongside public/government works. Pixi Airlines, Commonwealth Airways Luthorian Airlines and CamdunAir are expected to build sections within the proposed terminals. The construction will increase Halanamo International Airport Terminals from 3 to 5 with a unique outlook an accommodating for wide-body aircraft.
around Ⱡ600 million has been set aside to rehabilitate the airport's two existing runways. Overtime, runways 1R and 1L had become damaged due to weathering and lack of maintenance. With the airport expecting to accommodate for increased traffic, the need for a runway which is capable of handling both the weight the aircraft and constant use the runway by increased traffic is henceforth extremely important. While plans for a high-speed taxiway have been proposed, Mr. Fletcher shoot down assumptions and rumours that the high-speed taxiway would be built alongside the new runway, stating that whilst the idea was considered its implementation is not within the foreseeable future. It is the intention of the Luthorian Economic Development Commission to transform Keymon into a bridge between Artania and Seleya. With both continents rapidly becoming the two largest markets on terra, the prospects of Keymon being the bridge between these two developing regions has the potential to trigger a major innovation and economic expansion within the nation. Luthori's involvement in the Artanian Union and the large amount of potential economic advantages coming out of such a union, a potential connection between Luthori's AU economics and it's outlook for Keymon could potentially intertwine.

HLBC FirstImperial Bank of Commerce announced its intentions to transform Jamestown into a technology hub via the construction of the bank's technology and data centres in the city. FIBC intends on hiring 5,000 people through this venture which had been finalised with the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce. The Ketymonite subsidiary of Luthorian mega-bank, HLBC (Hutorian/Luthorian Banking Corporation), will become the largest employer in Jamestown after the central government. Chairman of FIBC Damion King stated that Jamestown offered unique opportunity for the banking firm's expansion. At average the bank's jobs in its future "Plumeria Centre" could potentially pay up to $200,000 based on job requirements. King said that both HLBC Baltusia and FirstImperial are likely to share the facility, thus leading to the assumption that the facility to be constructed by FirstImperial with some assistance from HLBC Baltusia is expected to be large, around 1 million square feet (22 acres). The Plumeria Centre will house FirstImperial's data centres which will service for the entire region of Seleya and will similarly host HLBC Baltusia's new headquarters. HLBC Baltusia's move from Turtle Bay to Jamestown comes amid an agreement with Jamestown Chamber of Commerce to assist in the gentrification of Jamestown. Hunakai Mahina, Keymon-born CFO of FIBC stated that he had requested various grants and tax incentives from the Mayor of Jamestown.
Amidst the attempt to gentrify Jamestown, the real estate arm of FIBC is set to expand deeper into Fremont's property market. The acquisition of Leolani & Paul by FIBC Real Estate will triple its revenue and add around 200 staff to its operations. The housing market in Jamestown had slowed down significantly due to little foreign investment, however FIBC's introduction comes as a turning point for the city. This comes as HLBC Baltusia and FIBC are moving to gentrify and increase property value in the city amidst the company's intention to transform the city into a functional technical hub. Damion King called upon both the central government and the Jamestown City Corporation to make provisions allowing for businesses to the established easier in the state. He also called for Chief Executive Kalili Makaio to offer tax incentives to small business enterprises and companies with intentions to base operations in the city. FIBC is rapidly becoming the rising star in Keymon's financial sector with its Chairman Damion King being ranked by CDS as one of the richest men in Keymon.
Alongside this it was announced that HLBC intends on opening an office of its private wealth management bank in New Endralon. FirstImperial Wealth Management focuses on serving high net worth customers with various financial and wealth management services. The proposed office in Giurgiu will become the Keymon-based bank's first foreign office. The move comes as apart of a major expansion push by Chairman of HLBC FirstImperial Bank of Commerce, Damion King to open around 50 offices of subsidiaries and sections of the bank by 2030. The opening of the office in Giurgiu would see around 1,000 persons become employed by the Bank in the city. FirstImperial is seleya's fastest growing banking firm as it mainly capitalises on the lack of sound financial management and planning firms on the Seleyan continent. The bank is a subsidiary of the larger, Hutorian/Luthorian Banking Corporation (the largest private investment bank and financial services company in the Northern Hemisphere). FirstImperial Asset Management is expected to be led by Aiden O'Brien, a Luthorian-national and former national managing director of HLBC Luthori. FirstImperial Asset Management (New Endralon) will tend to individuals, family offices, foundations and endowments throughout the region of Keris and Macon.

The Legislative Assembly did successfully pass the bill in a 39-31 vote. The corporate tax was changed from 25 percent to 10 percent in an attempt to, according to PKU Chairman Kalili Makaio, “boost the economic and financial power of the isle of Keymon and our people. When the investors and soon-to-be business owners need cash, they will have it and it will ultimately be able to boost there companies to the stratosphere”. The move however has been critiqued as a ploy to gain the votes of business owners and an attempt to gain the support of the wealthy. Another part of the tax law that has garnered attention, and subsequently controversy, is the new tax bracket. This new tax bracket has lowered all taxes on all income brackets, except for the highest brackets like those who make 1-100 billion Ⱡ. The new bracket will overall lose the government’s 35 billion Ⱡ in tax income, which will severely increase the budget deficit. The budget deficit, under the Labour Party, increased x3 from 64 billion Ⱡ to 192 billion Ⱡ. This deficit is expected to get much worse under the new tax plan. However, Chairman Kalili Makaio has proposed a new budget that would ultimately lower the spending-budget problem to a point at which the debt taken on could be paid off.

It would most notably repeal the ban on fully and semi automatic weapons, which the Labour Party had implemented 4 years ago. This sudden change has been met with praise from conservatives and condemnation from Labour Party Members. The law, which was passed 37 for and 33 against, would legally allow Keymonites that pass a background check to order all types of conventional firearms, including fully and semi automatic weaponry. This sudden change in law has driven demand, and therefore the business of, for arms up. The Keymon Arms Company, which was earlier this year struggling to even pay all its employees, now has seen a massive profit increase and an increase in the demand for specific weapons. Mitchell Elliott, the CEO of the Keymon Arms Company, gave a statement to us about the issue: Critics of the new law have pointed out the low crime rate of Keymon, which is debatably due to multiple laws or issues. The Labour Party have condemned the new law as “promoting violence and terroristic actions”.

The budgetary bill, called the ‘Sensible Budgetary Bill of 2019’, significantly reduces the budgets for infrastructure, health, and education. The new budgets of the local Keymon ministries are as follows. This budget has been officially passed. And with the tax income of 170 billion Ⱡ, this ,makes one of the first times in modern Keymon history that the government has had a budget surplus. This achievement has been met by praise from conservatives but labor party members have condemned the bill as a “death wish for the poor” as free public healthcare and free college tuition have been ended, as some have said, in a snap. However, Chairman Kalili Makaio has rebutted that claim by pointing out that the bill had a provision in which if a student couldn’t pay off there current education, they would be eligible for a 0% interest rate government loan. Chairman Makaio has also pointed out a provision that stated the removal of a public healthcare system and tuition free college would occur over the course of two years. The bill also directly described what would be cut from funding. For healthcare, the public healthcare system would slowly be drained of funding over two years until it’s gone. The free contraception system will have its budget cut by 90% and will almost always be forced to teach sexual abstinence as the only type of birth control. Alongside this, police will slowly lose access to firearms and will instead be given cheaper non-lethal weaponry. Numerous other changes include decreases the number of infrastructure projects, decreasing funding for renewable energy, and decreasing funding for tourism. The PKU’s decision to end public healthcare and tuition free college has sparked protests, especially in the capitol Turtle Bay. Protestors claim to have no other options to public healthcare and they may face the consequences of a “politicized healthcare system”. One protestor stated that-

Keymon's ruling conservative government has collapsed after a motion of no confidence, setting off a general election campaign season just months into Dame Diane Lee's term as governor. The collapse comes amidst the KHH's conclusion that the government's style of governance was not for Keymon, especially in a period whereby development should be championed. According to Parliament website, the Ka Hui Hana (KHH) or Labour Party tabled the no confidence vote after the ruling Pākahi Kālepa Unite (PKU) or Unitary Conservative Party decided to end the free healthcare and tuition regime upheld by their (the KHH's) government in the period prior. The PKU lost the vote of no confidence when some members of the party's backbench, switched allegiance. Whilst those who switched allegiance stated that they had no intention of joining the KHH, many have stated that they intend on forming new political parties to contest both the KHH and the PKU. "In a period where development should be championed we are moving to collapse the catalysts of development in favour of ideological appeasement," lawmaker Victoria Spencer said. The PKU which was in a majority of 39 of 70 was stunned when around 8 members of the party voted in favour of passing the motion of no confidence. Several of these members had been escorted out of the parliament after the session after it was made clear to police that pro-PKU supporters waiting outside the parliament would have quantified a threat to the lives of the 8 members.
The vote puts the cohesion of the government which once stood as a strong proponent of "change" at risk and increases the chances of the KHH winning the next election. With local government elections around the corner, the KHH is expected to perform well amidst the no confidence vote. This no confidence vote is the first of its kind in Keymon's political history. On the steps of Administration House, the official residence of the Governor of Keymon, Secretary to the Governor Amosa Kalakona stated that as per the constitution and parliamentary conduct, the ruling part had thirty (30) days to form a new government, stating that if it is not done, the Governor, as per the constitution will have to dissolve the parliament and call an early election.

The deal was approved by the boards of both companies. The new value of the now one companies(which is keeping the name of Iokua International Banking and Investment) assets is estimated to be around 63.9 billion Luthorian Pounds. Iokua International Banking and Investment Firm, or I.I.B.I, has consistently been the largest investor in domestic Keymonite businesses and companies. I.I.B.I has invested significant amounts of its time and resources into the farming industries, especially after the government began granting tax exemptions for banks who did loan cash to farmers. I.I.B.I. has also invested heavily into the obsidian and coal mining industries which have been described by some as “Keymon’s vampires”, since they “suck the cash out of banks”. I.I.B.I’s financial officer called the move a “monumental turn towards investment into companies, as well as the new market of individual crediting and loans. The new board, which combined the two comprising of 15 and 30 members respectively, will consist of 45 members and will be made of up of all the previous board members from both companies. The CEO of Iokua International Banking and Investment, ’Iolani Kahanamoku and Fortune Financing CEO Kahua Manunui have joined an agreement to become co-CEO’s of Iokua International Banking and Investment and work as co-executives of the company. Investors and stock owners will have there investment and stocks merged together as one entity. This merger has led to some market drama, as these two local financial giants were generally considered rivals.

Governor Dame Diane Lee has dissolved parliament and declared a snap election earlier this morning, after the Unitary Conservative Party could not form a government amidst the vote of no confidence against the government months prior. The decision as to whether the vote of no confidence was in itself valid was sent to the Privy Council where it was deliberated for around 3 months. 2 Months prior the Privy Council concluded that the no confidence vote was valid and that the parliamentary rules associated with the passing of a vote of no confidence should and must been executed. 1 month ago, Dame Lee granted the government an extension to the period whereby they were ordered to form a confident government or a snap election would be called. The extension came amidst the delays brought about by the court case, and extended the time period to an addition month. This is a apart of the larger aforementioned political crisis which came about through the no confidence vote against the Unitary Conservative Party launched by the Labour Party after the government's decision to end crucial welfare programmes. Secretary to the Governor, Secretary to the Governor Amosa Kalakona stated that the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly would come into effect by midnight tonight, with a new legislative assembly set to be summoned by May 2020. On the steps of Administration House, Secretary Amosa Kalakona read the proclamation on behalf of Governor Diane Lee announcing the dissolution of parliament and the beginning of the electoral period. Many politicians within the Labour and Independent camps welcomed the Governor's dissolving of the House of Representatives and the Senate as is constitutional conduct. At midnight the electoral period will begin and already several political parties have been registered with the Elections Commission. Victoria Spencer, political leader of the newly formed Centre Party, stated that the population had become tired of the dual-party political of the Labour and Unitary Conservative Parties. The upcoming election which has been scheduled for April 15th, will see around 10 political parties (8 independent/new) and the two established Labour and Unitary Conservative Party. Of Keymon's 8 million population, around 3 million people are eligible to vote. According to the Elections Commissions persons below the age of 21 are automatically ineligible to vote.

The Domestic Investment Plan describes a series of investments that would see Iokua International Banking and Investment loan cash to dozens of companies. These companies would then slowly pay off the debts, with an interest rate of 2.65% a year. The board of directors agreed that the majority of the loans would go to the agricultural, technology, and mining industries whilst also giving smaller loans to the banking and railroad industries. The cash, the culmination of reportedly 3 years of planning and funding, will be generally loaned away and then recollected in the following way, according to the board of directors: 1)Iokua loans a certain amount of cash to a company in a certain industry 2)After this company begins to become profitable, it’ll begin to pay back the loan with a 2.65 interest rate every year. 3)Once the loans are paid back, Iokua will earn anywhere from 100% to 550% of the price of its original investments and loans Yet 3 noticeable exemptions to this general rule were expressly stated. The first being Saipipulu Technolgy. Board member Iolani Akela, the only women on the Iokua Board of Directors, has offered to purchase 100% of the stocks of Saipipulu Technolgy using company cash originally intended to be a loan to Saipipulu Technolgy. In exchange, she offered a certain cut of her reportedly 2.5 million pound salary to pay off said purchase of stocks. The board was in unanimous agreement to allow said purchase. The second major outlier was the Jamestown Technological Institution of Agricultural. The Jamestown Technological Institution of Agricultural was given a 500 million pound loan with a 0% interest rate. The Jamestown Technological Institution of Agricultural however had to give said cash out to farmers as either loans or as subsidies. The Iokua Board of Directors also demanded that the Jamestown Technological Institution of Agricultural use said loans to research agricultural technologies, such as agricultural drones and human-less tractors. This agreement however did cause debate with the Iokua Board of Directors, with it only being approved by a slim margin. The third exemptions was for the Keymon Arms Company. The Keymon Arms Company has recently broke sales numbers however there debt has continued to follow them. So the Iokua Board of Directors voted to forgive all of the Keymon Arms Companies debt and loan it cash to pay off its previous debts, with no interests on the loans. This plan has been praised by politicians like Kalili Makaio and many of his fellow PKU colleagues.

The Labor party got 29 seats and the independents got 10. This slim victory serves as a defining triumph for the PKU, as the governor had only recently disbanded the PKU controlled government. This only pushes forward the possibility that the proposals and laws made and passed by PKU have been seen by the Keymon populous as positive steps. However this election still saw both the labor party and PKU lose seats to several independent candidates, running on various platforms. Overall, the PKU lost 8 seats and the Labour Party lost 2. This major loss of power by the PKU has been seen as both a blessing by leftists and a warning for right wingers. The main issue with the loss of seats is the ideals of the legislators in the PKU. The 1 PKU legislator that gave the PKU that slim majority is a well known libertarian and has been quoted in the past stating he could and would vote in favor of Labour Party proposals if they fit his beliefs. This instability within the party could lead to future power struggles and conflicts, however at the moment it seems like the PKU is generally united under a shared hatred for the Labour Party. This election has mainly been a win for independent candidates, which gained 10 seats respectively. These 10 seats could prove crucial to passing laws and it will soon become a major battle between the PKU and Labour to get these 10 seats on there side.

This change in law, which was met with praised from richer Keymonites and condemnation from the Labour Party, disallows foreign entities, third parties, or even Keymon or Luthorian authorities from looking at the bank details of private clients without their consent or a criminal complaint from domestic authorities. This change has changed privacy laws considerably in Keymon, which could be used by foreigners to hide cash from foreign authorities. These law changes have been described by financial experts as a-“ploy to make Keymon a tax haven and encourage people to put there money in Keymon banks”. The new law, creatively nicknamed the Bank Secrecy Act, has been praised by a majority of bankers and PKU members. The man reason for this praise is due to the fact that this law would encourage foreigners to put there cash into Keymon banks, which would give more cash for these banks to invest into Keymon.
