Deputy Accused of Rape Peace and Order Party Deputy Accused by Giurgiu Teen October 17, 2030
Deputy Radu Petrescu Confronted by Media in Giurgiu
Last week, Deputy Radu Petrescu of Țara Chizână was accused of raping an underage Giurgiu girl last July. The girl, Steliana Dumitrescu (16), came out with her story six days ago, claiming that the Deputy had lured her into a hotel in Giurgiu and raped her, then threatened the lives of her and her family if she had made thee rape public.
Radu Petrescu has been a member of the Peace and Order Party since its formation in 2019, and a Deputy for the party since 2023.Before he joined the POP, Petrescu had been a member of the Liberal-Conservative Party, and served as the party's treasurer from 1997 to 2016 with little scandal. What makes the accusations even more mind-boggling is that Petrescu has been very open with his being a devout Hosian and pillar of the community in his small town of Mocana, which has been incredibly shaken by the accusations.
Quote from Livia Dumitru, Mocana Resident:
Despite his seemingly wholesome background, Deputy Petrescu has been accused of rape and the police are organizing an investigation into the incident. Dumitrescu has already given her account of the incident to the police and the statement has been made public.
Dumitrescu's Statement:
Deputy Petrescu has denied all allegations that he had raped Dumitrescu and has claimed that Dumitrescu is just a pawn in a plot by the United Left to further discredit the POP and the governing coalition.
Update: October 22, 2030 Camera footage released from the Colonial Hotel in Giurgiu, where the alleged rape took place, reveals that Deputy Radu Petrescu and Steliana Dumitrescu did enter Petrescu's room by themselves on the same day and at roughly the same time as the alleged rape took place. Deputy Petrescu has since been indicted for the rape of Dumitrescu and has been brought into custody by Giurgiu police. Petrescu has also been kicked out of the Peace and Order Party and impeached by the Camera Deputaților and replaced by Delia Constantinescu. The investigation is still ongoing, though some authorities believe they have enough evidence to convict Petrescu.

Election 2031
Voter Turnout Percentage: 76.19%
Camera Deputaților
Party | Ideology | Seats | United Left | Big Tent Left | 103 | King's Party | Monarchist | 86 | Peace and Order Party | Conservative | 44 | Steel Guard | Fascist | 23 | National Liberal Party | Nationalist, Libertarian | 21 | Kizenian Libertarian Party | Libertarian | 14 | Liberal-Conservative Party | Conservative, AnCap | 9 |
SenatParty | Ideology | Seats | United Left | Big Tent Left | 39 | King's Party | Monarchist | 31 | Steel Guard | Fascist | 16 | Peace and Order Party | Conservative | 11 | National Liberal Party | Nationalist, Libertarian | 1 | Kizenian Libertarian Party | Libertarian | 1 | Liberal-Conservative Party | Conservative, AnCap | 1 |
The Peace and Order Party has lost their twelve year role as largest party in both legislatures, falling to third place in the Camera Deputaților (lost 93 seats) and fourth in the Senat (lost 23 seats). Despite loosing five seats in the Camera Deputaților, the United Left seems to be the biggest winner in the elections, winning six seats in the Senat and gaining the plurality in both chambers due to the crashing and burning of the POP.
The new King's Party and Steel Guard have also carved out an influential position for themselves after growing substantially in both chambers, the monarchists seizing second place in both chambers and the fascists maintaining fourth place in the Camera Deputaților and gaining third in the Senat.
A sizable amount of POP voters seem to have come out to support the minor parties, who have also begun to make a comeback in the legislature, securing a total of fourteen seats in the Camera Deputaților between them, but only winning one Senat seat each, acting only as a token of their existence.
A government is yet to be formed, as every party has come out in opposition to the Steel Guard and pledged not to work with the fascist party, which has made an anti-left coalition impossible. In addition to this, both the United Left and Peace and Order Party have made it clear that they would never participate in a government with each other, while the minor liberal parties have also refused to work with the United Left. The only possible coalition seems to be one between the United Left and King's Party, but such a government would be turbulent to say the least, as both parties have campaigned fiercely against each other. Until a government can be formed, the ruling minority POP/KP/NLP will continue to lead Kizenia.

Government Formed United Left and the King's Party Form Governing Coalition June 2, 2031
Tereza Albu, Incoming United Left Prime Minister
Since the elections in February, the United Left and King's Party have been holding private negotiations regarding the formation of coalition between the two staunchly opposite parties while the minority government has been in failing in the backdrop. Such a polar government has been forced into power primarily due to the lack of unity among the right wing parties, specifically due to the unwillingness of the mainstream parties to work with the radical Steel Guard.
Reportedly, the negotiations have lasted so long due to squabbles between the two parties over minor policy issues, such as minimum wage and a rolling back of the Peace and Order Party's Public Decency Laws. In the end, the two parties have made it public that they have made a deal in order to form a government: the United Left will support a bill which adds a representative of the King to the cabinet in exchange for the King's Party supporting an increase in taxes for the richest Kizenians and a bill that would end the harshest rules of the Public Decency Laws.
Surprisingly, if reports are accurate, a great many disagreements at the negotiating table have been between not the United Left and the King's Party, but between the factions of the United Left. Being a Big Tent Leftist party formed from the melding of three parties from the far to center left, there have been many internal struggles within the United Left, with the goal of defeating the Peace and Order Party being the cement holding the party together. Now that the POP is in the minority, that cement seems to have weakened and the divisions within the party have become more pronounced, even showing up at the party's negotiation with the King's Party, specifically in a discussion over immigration policy. The more centrists elements of the United Left were in unison with the King's Party position of supporting a skill-based immigration and emigration policy, while the far-left former members of the Communist Party of Kizenia opposed the idea in favor of closed borders in order to protect Kizenian workers from foreign competition. So far, these divisions seem to be nothing but a nuisance for the United Left, though the future of the party is uncertain as the uniting force behind the party, the POP, gets weaker and weaker every day, and a banishment of the POP to obscurity would leave the United Left without a purpose, unless a new uniting force can be found.

United Left Income Tax Plan Passed United Left/King's Party Government Raises Taxes for Rich; Lowers for the Poor December 15, 2032
Prime Minister Tereza Albu Following Vote Results
In line with their agreements pre-coalition agreements, the United Left and King's Party have come together to pass a revised version of the United Left's income tax plan. The new plan will see the income tax rates for those falling in Brackets 2 and 3 being cut in half, the rates for those falling in Brackets 1 and 4 will remain the same, the rates for those falling in Brackets 5 and 7 will increase by 5%, and the rates for those in Bracket 6 will increase by 10%.
New Income Tax Brackets
Bracket ID | Annual Income | Old Tax Rate | New Tax Rate | 1 / BA3 | R0 - R9,999.99 | 0% | 0% | 2 / BA2 | R10,000 - R19,999.99 | 5% | 2.5% | 3 / BA1 | R20,000 - R49,999.99 | 20% | 10% | 4 / A | R50,000 - R99,999.99 | 25% | 25% | 5 / AA1 | R100,000 - R499,999.99 | 25% | 30% | 6 / AA2 | R500,000 - R999,999.99 | 30% | 40% | 7 / AA3 | R1,000,000+ | 35% | 40% |
All Senators and Deputies for the United Left and, to the surprise of the rest of the legislature, the Steel Guard voted in favor of the bill. The next largest supporter of the bill was, unsurprisingly, the King's Party, whose Senators voted unanimously for the bill, in line with the party's agreements with their coalition partner. However, a group of nine Deputies in great opposition to the tax plan (All of whom fall in Bracket 6) broke from party line and voted against the bill in a show of token defiance. All the representatives (In both Chambers) of the Peace and Order Party, National Liberal Party, Kizenian Libertarian Party, and the Liberal-Conservative party, being parties in opposition to high taxes and social spending, voted unanimously against the bill, but failed to muster enough votes to prevent the bill's passage. Camera Deputaților Vote Count

Queen with Child Queen Maria Announced to be Pregnant October 18, 2032
King Nicolae and Queen Maria
Last week, after thirteen years of marriage, King Nicolae and Queen Maria have revealed to the public that the queen has been pregnant with the King's child for at least three months. For the past decade, the King and Queen have either been unable to or have failed to try to produce an heir.
The older age of the queen has raised multiple questions in the public, the most prominent being the possibility of the child being born with genetic defects. Many prominent obstetrician-gynecologists agree that pregnancies past the age of thirty-five are generally more difficult for the mother and present more risks for the child, however many argue that, since the Queen is only thirty-seven, the country need not worry about the prospects of birth defects.
For years, many prominent Kizenian officials have been on edge due to the possibility of a succession crisis due to the King's lack of a son. Though the news of a pregnant Queen has given these officials a relief, the unease of Kizenia's elites can once again be kindled if the Queen gives birth to a daughter rather than a son, as Kizenian succession laws only allow female succession if their are no eligible male candidates. If the child is born a girl, the King's heir will once again be unclear, leaving three eligible candidates: 1) Prince Ferdinand, the younger brother of King Nicolae; 2) Paul Constantin, King Nicolae's older half-brother and the bastard son of Eduard Constantin; and 3) Bogdan Constantin, the uncle of King Nicolae. Of these three candidates, the most likely heir in the case of emergency would be Prince Ferdinand, the King's legitimate younger brother, though Paul and Bogdan Constantin each have their own supporters and claims to the throne.

Queen Gives Birth to Boy Undoubted Heir to King Nicolae Born May 2, 2033
Celebratory Parade Held in Carpenia
This past weekend, King Nicolae announced to the public, with much joy, that Queen Maria had given birth to a boy which they had named Mihai, after Nicolae's grandfather Mihai II, the last King of Kizenia before communist takeover.
In response to the announcement of the royal birth, thousands of joyous Kizenians have taken part in celebratory parades organized by royalist and nationalist groups across Kizenia. The largest of these parades took place in Giurgiu, being attended by over 10,000 Kizenians. In addition to the parades held by common Kizenians, many prominent Kizenians gave their congratulations to the King and Queen and celebrated in their own ways.
Most of the prominent figures of the major political parties have also congratulated the King and Queen and accepted Prince Mihai as the heir apparent, including Prime Minister Tereza Albu and the moderate elements of the United Left, though the more radical leftists in the big tent party have joined with the Steel Guard in denouncing the monarchy and refusing to accept Prince Mihai as the heir.
With the birth of Prince Mihai, it seems that the line of succession is no longer doubtful and that any royal ambitions for King Nicolae's brothers and uncle have been smashed, though this seems to not have fazed them, as they have already publicly endorsed Prince Mihai as the heir to the throne.
